A voter initiative may soon change how Nevadans register to vote.


IP-1 would create a process in which Nevada residents will automatically be registered to vote or have their information updated whenever they go to the DMV.  If voters do not wish to participate in the process, they will have to opt-out.

Republican Presidential candidate Donald Trump will headline a fundraising dinner in Lake Tahoe next week.

The Nevada Republican Party is hosting the dinner at Harrah's Lake Tahoe in Stateline, NV, on Friday, Aug. 26.

General admission is $200 while a VIP table is going for $5,000.

Surprising no one, Washoe County logged a low voter turnout in Nevada’s primary election this year. Less than a quarter of registered voters participated. Reno Public Radio’s Anh Gray has the details.

Slightly more than 21 percent of registered voters in Washoe County cast their ballots earlier this week. Based on numbers released by the Nevada Secretary of State’s office, this year’s turnout is in line with previous primaries.
