About KUNR
As Northern Nevada’s trusted public radio station, KUNR has been connecting our community since 1963. We’re part of the Reynolds School of Journalism at the University of Nevada, Reno. We also operate KNCC in Elko and KNCJ, Nevada Classical and Jazz. As an NPR member station since 1981, we bring you trusted national programs and award-winning local news, from NPR’s Morning Edition to KUNR’s Purple Politics Nevada. Our newsroom’s excellence has been recognized by the Associated Press, the Edward R. Murrow Awards, and other leading organizations.
We’ve KNCC Elko since 1992, and we launched KNCJ Nevada Classical and Jazz in 2016—delivering 24/7 music and local favorites like Saturday Night Jazz and Wednesday Evening Classics to enrich our cultural landscape. In 2018, we joined the Reynolds School of Journalism not just to deepen our commitment to quality reporting and digital storytelling, but also to take an active role in teaching the next generation of journalists. We’re also a proud partner in the Mountain West News Bureau, an NPR regional hub that allows us to produce and share stories from across our region.
At KUNR, public service drives everything we do. We’re grateful to our listeners, members, and supporters—your generosity sustains our mission and keeps our community connected.
