The new master plan for the University of Nevada, Reno campus encompasses a number of wide-ranging objectives and reflects input from a variety of stakeholders in setting a new vision for the campus and the surrounding community. It elevates the conversation about northern Nevada as a true “University Town” and is a prime example of close collaboration among the University community, the City of Reno and the Regional Transportation Commission.

A recent discovery of a 17th century first folio of William Shakespeare has created excitement and added fuel to a long-standing debate among scholars.

The folio was verified by Eric Rasmussen, who is the Foundation Professor and chair of  the University of Nevada, Reno’s English Department. Professor Rassmussen visited with Provost Kevin Carman and KUNR's David Stipech on Beyond the Headlines (2-6-15).

The University of Nevada is now part of U-Teach, which prepares high school teachers in what are called the STEM subjects -- Science, Technology, Engineering and Math. 

At the University, it's called NevadaTeach. And beginning this fall, incoming science majors (and eventually other STEM majors) will be able to take part in this focused and streamlined way to receive a teaching certificate and education degree within the four-year course of study.

The study of psychology has a wide range of applications, not merely in clinical and mental health fields, according to Victoria Follette, Ph.D, Foundation Professor of Psychology and chair of the University of Nevada, Reno's Department of Psychology. With most jobs involving an understanding of people and their behavior and motivations at some level, psychology can be a valuable course of study for virtually any career path. 

Dr. Follette visited about the Psychology program with University Provost Kevin Carman on KUNR's Beyond the Headlines.
