Baseball may be done for the season, but a photo exhibit called "My Reno Aces: Minor League Baseball in the Biggest Little City" is highlighting the eight-year history of Reno's ball club.

Reno Public Radio's Noah Glick spoke with team photographer David Calvert about this special exhibit.

The Nevada Historical Society has a new exhibit featuring photographs taken inside Reno casinos during the 1970s and '80s. Reno Public Radio's Danna O'Connor has the details.

The exhibit is called “Black and White Risk” and the photos are unusual in that photography is banned in Nevada casinos.  The photographer is Jan Aphelin who started working in casinos in the early 1960’s and began secretly taking photos almost immediately.

A local photographer is challenging the stereotypical way homeless people are often portrayed with a new photo exhibit at the Metro Gallery inside Reno City Hall.  Reno Public Radio’s Anh Gray talks with the artist about her work as part of our month-long series on ARTOWN.

Artown's Chosen One: Artist Franz Szony Returns Home To Reno

Jul 7, 2015
Franz Szony

Every year, Artown commissions one local artist to create a unique image for the event poster that can be seen all over town. It’s a time-honored tradition and this year’s 20th anniversary poster was given to artist and Reno native, Franz Szony.  Szony’s work is also on display all month at Sierra Arts Foundation. Reno Public Radio’s Esther Ciammachilli caught up with him at the gallery as he was setting up his show to talk about his work, his time as a young art student in Reno and what inspires him.

You may not know this, but there’s an art to hanging art.
