Capstak is an online meeting platform for commercial real estate professionals. It helps them find deals, source capital and identify both business partners and service providers.

The city of Reno is getting closer to bringing a professional minor league hockey team to town. Reno Public Radio’s Noah Glick reports.

During last week’s city council meeting, the council voted unanimously to enter into an exclusive negotiating agreement among the city, the Reno-Sparks Convention and Visitors Authority and Reno Puck Club, LLC.

Washoe County Manager John Slaughter said that while he is cautiously optimistic about the region’s economic future, the county is increasing its reserves in case there's another economic downtown in the future. He made the comments at this year's annual state of the county address. Reno Public Radio's Bob Conrad was there and has more.

Slaughter says that growth and development will get a sharp look in the near future. One of the county’s two bill-draft requests for the next legislative session will include an examination of regional planning legislation.

A new hotel in downtown Reno held its grand opening last night. It's a Courtyard by Marriott located near the Aces baseball stadium and the Truckee River.

Reporter Brook Bentley with our media partner Northern Nevada Business Weekly says the opening represents a larger shift in downtown accommodations.

"The Courtyard by Marriott is joining the trend with properties like the Whitney Peak Hotel and the Renaissance Marriott in being non-gaming  facilities located in downtown Reno," Bentley explains.
