What's With All The Construction At Rancho San Rafael?

Rancho San Rafael Regional Park has a massive $1.2 million irrigation project that has turned a good portion of the park into a construction zone. Reno Youth Radio’s Veronica Garcia paid a visit to find out what is going on.

If you walk around Rancho San Rafael right now, there are pink stakes stuck in the mud, tractors, and lines drawn all over the grass.

“People are asking, 'What are these stakes for, what are these cones for?'”

Matthew McConaughey's Gold is a film based in 1980’s Reno. But did Kenny Wells actually exist? Did he find the largest gold strike of the 20th century and is there such thing as a Prospector of the Year award? Reno Youth Radio’s Wyatt Daane explores these questions.

 

Kenny Wells ventured into Indonesia prospecting for gold and discovered the largest gold mine of the 20th Century. Does this movie have anything to do with Reno or even Nevada?

The Uncertain Future Of One Ross Manor Resident

The Ross Manor in downtown Reno was sold this year. It was home to many long-time residents in a rough and tumble neighborhood. Reno Youth Radio’s Wyatt Daane spoke to one of the residents about life there and the recent changes.
