A vacant spot on the Washoe County School Board is now filled. Diane Nicolet was unanimously selected by board members at a public meeting last night.
Nicolet is director of the E.L. Cord Child Care Center and her experience includes teaching education courses at the college level.
The seat was vacated when a board member retired a few months ago and the term expires at the end of the year. Eight candidates are on this year’s ballot for that seat and she’s not one of them. A total of four seats are up for grabs.
In the meantime, Nicolet will hold the at-large seat, which covers 46 schools in the western half of the county.
