Starbucks Is Expanding, Adding 100 Jobs In Minden

Brad Coman

Starbucks is expanding its operations in Minden, which will bring close to 100 new jobs within the next two years. Our contributor Brook Bentley reports.

The Starbucks distribution center in Carson Valley will expand over the next year with an additional 700,000 square feet. The roasting side of the operation will continue as is.

The project will cost $50 million and the goal is to increase capacity in order to streamline regional sourcing. With the 100 forthcoming jobs, Starbucks will soon employ a total of about 350 people at this location.

The facility is also home to the first Starbucks Inclusion Academy, which offers six weeks of training for those with disabilities to get work experience in manufacturing, warehousing and distribution. The program was launched in 2014 and has since expanded to Baltimore and York, Pennsylvania.
