Polian Fined $10k For 'Unsportsmanlike Conduct'

University of Nevada, Reno

Wolf Pack football coach Brian Polian is being sanctioned for unsportsmanlike conduct.

Polian has been fined $10,000 after receiving two unsportsmanlike penalties in Nevada’s game against Arizona this past Saturday.

He's also subject to additional reporting to the athletics director and the department will have an administrative presence on sidelines during games. Polian will face automatic suspension and larger fines for further offenses.

This is not Polian's first or even second violation. The Reno Gazette-Journalreports Polian received an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty during a game at San Diego State in 2013, his sideline conduct was called into question after a loss to Colorado State in 2014 and he was reprimanded by Mountain West Conference officials following a game at UNLV that same year.
