Art For Native American Heritage Month

Artist Emily Arthur

The UNR Sheppard Contemporary gallery is presenting the work of Joe Allen, a traditional duck decoy artist and a member of the Fallon Paiute-Shoshone Tribe and Emily Arthur, a printmaker from the Cherokee foothills of North Carolina.   The exhibit runs through Jan. 22.

Friday the 13th at 2pm there is a public lecture by scholar Nancy Mithlo, Ph.D.   She works to bring American Indian artists to the attention of global audiences.  The lecture is free and will be at the Wells Fargo Auditorium in the Knowledge Center at UNR.

Danna O'Connor chats with Paul Baker Prindle, Director of University Galleries to get the details.
