Nevada Treasurer Lambasted For Alternative Budget

If you’re scratching your head about why the treasurer is designing the state’s budget, you’re not the only 

  one. In an unprecedented move, Nevada State Treasurer Dan Schwartz, a Republican, came forward with a plan that’s about half a billion dollars lower than Governor Brian Sandoval’s. It also eliminates the governor’s proposed taxes on business to fund education.

University's Rasmussen builds on global legacy as Shakespeare expert with recent folio validation

Dr. Eric Rasmussen, Chair of the University of Nevada, Reno's English Department, is considered a leading world expert on Shakespeare.

A recent discovery of a 17th century first folio of William Shakespeare has created excitement and added fuel to a long-standing debate among scholars.

The folio was verified by Eric Rasmussen, who is the Foundation Professor and chair of  the University of Nevada, Reno’s English Department. Professor Rassmussen visited with Provost Kevin Carman and KUNR's David Stipech on Beyond the Headlines (2-6-15).
