This holiday season, KUNR has teamed up with the Food Bank of Northern Nevada to make your year-end, tax-deductible donation go further. For every $100 donated to KUNR from now until December 31st, the Reno Public Radio Staff and Leadership Board will donate 10 meals to the Food Bank of Northern Nevada.
We hope to provide up to 5,000 meals, but we can only do it with your contribution. Please donate now to support public radio, and provide food for the hungry in our community.
The Food Bank of Northern Nevada is raising funds this year to support the School Pantry program. This amount of money will help the FBNN support 5 school pantries in Washoe County.
Last year, they brought on more than 20 new school pantries and the impact has been fantastic. The program is reaching families and students who are struggling in a place that is convenient and comfortable for many to access services.
Children who do not receive adequate nutrition have trouble concentrating in school and can interfere with their success. They tend to be sick more often and can even have behavior issues. Children under the age of three who miss meals can have impacts on their brain development that are permanent. Child hunger is a problem that affects us all. It is an education problem, an economic problem and even a job readiness problem.
Thank you for helping us support the FBNN and KUNR!
And now, when you donate $120 or more, you will receive our "Support KUNR-Reno Public Radio" Red Tote. Use this sustainable and chic tote on all your shopping trips, gym sessions, and picnics. Show your public radio love wherever you go.
